WhatsApp Business Verification Now Comes With a Monthly Plan From 56 Riyals: Which One Do You Need?

If you use the WhatsApp Business app and want the verified badge next to your business name, it is now part of Meta One, the subscription Meta launched globally on 15 September 2026. The cheapest business plan, Essential, starts at 14.99 dollars a month, about 56 riyals, and includes the verified badge, a verified channel, impersonation protection and more replies from the Meta Business Agent AI assistant. The app itself stays free, the subscription is charged per phone number or business profile, and there is a 7-day free trial that turns into automatic billing. The practical rule: if accounts impersonating you are reaching your customers, the first plan is worth it; if you answer customers yourself and have no trust problem, the free app is enough.

What changed in WhatsApp Business?

In its official Meta One announcement, Meta introduced one subscription covering Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and Meta AI, and said the plans are rolling out gradually, with more than 50 features launched and 15 million subscriptions and trials to date. The Meta One page for the WhatsApp Business app states that the app stays free, that messaging, profile management and core tools are not changing, and that the subscription is purchased per business profile or phone number. In other words, you pay for extras on top of the app, not for the app.

The four plans and their prices in riyals

Meta published starting prices in dollars and said plans and pricing may vary by region, so check the price you are shown in the app. At roughly 3.75 riyals to the dollar:

  • Essential from 14.99 dollars (about 56 riyals a month): the verified badge, a verified WhatsApp Business channel, impersonation protection, and more access to the Meta Business Agent to answer customers around the clock.
  • Advanced from 49.99 dollars (about 187 riyals): everything above, plus team members accessing the account without sharing a password, more linked devices, business broadcast credits on WhatsApp, story scheduling up to 30 days ahead and exportable analytics.
  • Expert from 149 dollars (about 559 riyals): more AI assistant capacity and wider access for teams.
  • Max from 499 dollars (about 1,871 riyals): the highest AI assistant capacity and feature access for large teams.

Watch the maths if you run several branches on separate numbers: three numbers on Essential come to about 169 riyals a month, about 2,024 riyals a year.

What about the Meta Business Agent?

According to Meta's announcement of 3 June 2026, the assistant answers questions specific to your business, recommends products from your catalog, books appointments, qualifies leads, hands the chat to a staff member when you decide, and replies in the customer's language. Meta said getting started is free and that more than 1 million businesses already use it; the Meta One plans then added paid replies on top of the free monthly allowance. Meta has not published how many replies each plan includes, so do not base your decision on a number nobody announced: run the free allowance for a month and see how many chats it actually covers.

Do you need the subscription? Three cases

  • A small shop where the owner replies: the free app is usually enough, unless accounts impersonating you ask your customers for transfers; then the badge and impersonation protection are worth 56 riyals.
  • A team of staff sharing one phone: Advanced ends password and phone sharing, and that alone fixes a security problem.
  • Hundreds of chats a day, linked to sales or inventory: the app is the wrong tool here; you need the WhatsApp Business API with per-message pricing, which we explained in our article on WhatsApp API reply pricing.

Steps before you subscribe

  • Open the WhatsApp Business settings and check the local price you are shown; the dollar figure is only a starting price.
  • If you start the free trial, set a reminder for day six, because it turns into automatic billing after 7 days.
  • Have your business details ready before requesting verification; the badge is granted after Meta verifies you, not just because you paid.
  • Review how you send messages before using broadcast credits, since careless bulk sending is one of the causes of WhatsApp account bans.

The Origami view

The verified badge solves a trust problem and the AI assistant solves a time problem, but both stay inside Meta's app, on Meta's terms. If WhatsApp chats are your main sales channel, what matters most is that orders reach your own system: an invoice, an order status and a follow-up, not messages lost on an employee's phone. At Origami we connect the WhatsApp API to sales and inventory systems for Saudi businesses, and help you decide when the app is enough and when you need a system. Contact us if you want the cost worked out for your chat volume.

Receivables Aging Report: Collect on a Schedule, Not Memory

A receivables aging report sorts every unpaid invoice by age from its due date; a collection calendar sets what happens to each one, and when. Part six of Digitizing Sales covers aging buckets set by the owner, reminders before, on and after the due date, escalation and the hold on new deliveries, a call log with payment promises, the monthly customer statement, what the law says about an unpaid promissory note, and the conditions in Article 40 of the VAT Implementing Regulations for reducing output VAT on a debt that was never collected.

Why Customers Pay Late: On-Time Invoices, Logged Disputes

Customers often pay late because the invoice went out late, reached someone who cannot approve it, or carries a dispute nobody owns. Part five of Digitizing Sales covers the deadlines for issuing a tax invoice and a monthly summary invoice under the VAT Implementing Regulations, why an invoice is corrected after issue with a credit or debit note on time rather than deleted, and how a dispute log gives every objection an owner, a reason and a date, so the undisputed part of the invoice stays collectible.

Proof of delivery is a note signed by an authorized receiver at the customer, and the invoice is built from it, not from the sales order. Customer Credit Limits and Guarantees for Selling on Terms

A customer credit limit is a figure the owner sets for each customer, and the system checks it at every order and delivery before you sell on terms. Part three of Digitizing Sales covers the customer record and two free official checks, how going over the limit becomes a recorded approval rather than a phone call, the guarantees an owner can choose from, including an advance payment, a bank guarantee and an electronic promissory note on the Nafith platform, and how contractors track advance payments and retention.
