Claude Marketplace Puts 2,000 Connectors One Click Away From Your Company Data

Claude Marketplace: One Catalog for Connecting AI to Your Company's Systems
On September 23, 2026, Anthropic launched Claude Marketplace, a single place inside the Claude platform that brings together three things: more than 2,000 connectors and plugins that link Claude to tools such as Atlassian, Google, Microsoft, Notion and Salesforce; ready-made agents and products built on Claude from companies such as CrowdStrike, Cursor, Harvey, Lovable and Snowflake; and service and consulting partners such as Accenture, Boston Consulting Group and Deloitte. The takeaway for a business owner: connecting AI to your systems is no longer a software project every time. It is now a button in a catalog. That is exactly what makes the decision riskier, because every connector you switch on is a new door into your company's data.
What Exactly Is in the Marketplace?
According to Anthropic's official announcement, the marketplace has three sections:
- Connectors and plugins: more than 2,000 connectors available from day one, built on the Model Context Protocol (MCP). They let Claude read your data from the work tools you already use and act inside them, so its answers are based on your actual information rather than general knowledge.
- Agents and products: ready-made Claude-powered software from companies specialising in cybersecurity, coding, law and data. What is new is that companies with a committed annual spend with Anthropic can pay for these products from a portion of that commitment, instead of opening a new purchase contract with every vendor.
- Service partners: consulting and systems-integration firms from the Claude Partner Network that help organisations implement and scale.
Developers have three routes in: build a connector or plugin with MCP and Agent Skills and submit it for listing, apply to list a Claude-powered product, or join the partner network.
Why This Matters to Your Business
Before the marketplace, connecting an AI assistant to your project-management, sales or cloud-storage system meant an integration built by a developer, taking days or weeks. Today a single employee can enable a connector in minutes. That speed is excellent for a small team that wants a quick result, but it moves responsibility from the IT team to whoever presses the button. If an employee enables a connector for company email or customer files, Claude can now read that data, and may write to it if the permissions allow.
The point to watch: the official announcement does not explain how Anthropic reviews developer-submitted connectors and plugins before listing them, or how long approval takes. A connector being in the catalog means it is available, not that it is automatically safe for your data.
Five Questions Before Enabling Any Connector
- Who published it? A connector from the company that owns the tool (for example, Salesforce for Salesforce) is different from one built by a third party you do not know.
- What does it read, and what does it write? Ask for read-only access wherever that is enough. A connector that can delete records or send messages in your name needs management approval.
- Whose data will pass through it? If it carries personal data about customers or employees, you are under Saudi Arabia's Personal Data Protection Law and its rules on transferring data outside the Kingdom, because the processing happens on Anthropic's servers outside it.
- Who decides to enable it? Decide whether every employee can enable connectors, or whether that goes through your IT lead.
- How do you switch it off? Before enabling it, know how to disconnect the connector, revoke its permissions, and what happens to data it has already accessed.
We have written in more depth about this in our articles on AI agent security and governance and on AI agent identity and how agents should log into your systems.
Your Internal System Will Not Be in the Catalog
The 2,000 connectors cover well-known global tools. The ERP built for your company, your own sales app or your warehouse database will not have a ready-made connector. That is where the real opportunity lies: the standard the marketplace runs on, MCP, is open, and any system you own can get its own connector that your team fully controls: what Claude can see, what it can change, and who reviews the log of what it did.
At Origami we build this kind of integration for our clients' systems: a private MCP connector that exposes only the data the AI needs, with precise permissions and an audit trail, working with Claude and with other models that support the standard. What About Paying From Committed Spend?
Paying from a portion of your Anthropic committed spend applies to larger companies with an annual spend agreement. Its practical benefit is a shorter procurement cycle: a team that wants a ready-made Claude-powered product does not need a new contract and a new round of approvals. A small or mid-sized business on an ordinary monthly subscription is better served by using the connectors available for its tools and buying ready-made products directly from their vendors.
Practical Steps for This Week
- List the tools your team uses daily and check which have an official connector from the company that owns the tool.
- Start with one read-only connector on non-sensitive data, and measure the benefit before expanding.
- Write a one-page policy: who enables connectors, which data is off-limits, and who reviews.
- Identify the internal systems that would deliver the most value if connected to AI, and plan a private connector for them.

Frequently asked questions
What is Claude Marketplace?+
A marketplace inside the Claude platform that Anthropic launched on September 23, 2026. It includes more than 2,000 connectors and plugins for linking Claude to work tools, ready-made Claude-powered agents and products from companies such as CrowdStrike and Snowflake, and service and consulting partners such as Deloitte and Accenture.
Are the connectors in the marketplace safe for my company's data?+
A connector being listed means it is available, not that it is automatically right for your data. Anthropic's announcement does not explain how developer-submitted connectors are reviewed, so prefer official connectors from the company that owns the tool, start with read-only access, and decide who is allowed to enable them.
Does connecting Claude to customer data require compliance with Saudi data protection law?+
If personal data about customers or employees passes through a connector, you are bound by the Personal Data Protection Law and its rules on transferring data outside the Kingdom, because the processing happens on Anthropic's servers outside it. Confirm your legal basis and the required safeguards before enabling it.
Our system was built specifically for our company. Can it be connected to Claude?+
Yes. The marketplace runs on the open MCP standard, and a private connector can be built for your system that defines exactly what the AI can see and change, with an audit trail, and works with Claude and with other models that support the standard.
