iPhone Duo Price in Saudi Arabia Starts at SAR 9,499: Buy It in Your Company's Name and Recover SAR 1,239 in VAT

Apple opened pre-orders for iPhone Duo, its first foldable iPhone, today, 16 October 2026. On the Saudi Apple Store it starts at SAR 9,499 for 256GB and goes up to SAR 15,499 for 2TB, with availability from 23 October. Those prices include 15% VAT, so the cheapest model carries about SAR 1,239 of tax. If your business is VAT-registered and buys the phone for a manager or employee to use for work, that amount is deductible, provided you hold a tax invoice in the company's name and VAT number. Before you hand the phone over, enrol it in device management. We covered whether your app is ready for the folding screen in an earlier article on iPhone Duo and your app.

What exactly does iPhone Duo cost in Saudi Arabia?

According to the Saudi Apple Store order page, the official prices by storage are as follows, the same for both colours:

StoragePrice incl. VATPrice before VAT (approx.)15% VAT (approx.)
256GBSAR 9,499SAR 8,260SAR 1,239
512GBSAR 10,499SAR 9,129.57SAR 1,369.43
1TBSAR 12,499SAR 10,868.70SAR 1,630.30
2TBSAR 15,499SAR 13,477.39SAR 2,021.61

The two VAT columns are our calculation: the Saudi Apple Store payments page states that all prices include VAT at the current rate, and the current rate has been 15% since 1 July 2020 according to ZATCA. The amount you deduct is the one on the invoice, not the one in this table. Apple's Newsroom confirms pre-orders began on Friday, 16 October, and the Saudi store lists availability from 23 October.

When can your business recover the VAT on the phone?

The VAT Implementing Regulations set three conditions that matter for this purchase:

  • Business use: Article 49 allows input tax to be deducted on goods supplied in the course of the business's economic activity. Article 50 blocks deduction on any goods meant for personal use. A phone gifted to the owner or a relative does not qualify.
  • The right invoice: Article 53 requires a tax invoice when supplying another taxable person, and a simplified invoice is only allowed below SAR 1,000. Article 49 does not allow deduction without evidence of the tax paid. Before paying, ask for an invoice in the company's name and VAT number, not the name of the employee whose card was used.
  • The time limit: you may deduct in a later period than the purchase, but not after 5 years from the calendar year of the supply.

For what to check on a supplier invoice before deducting, see our article on supplier invoices and input VAT.

Does a company phone need device management?

Yes, especially a device at this price that carries company email and files. The Apple Business feature availability page lists the following as available in Saudi Arabia: built-in device management, Managed Apple Accounts for employees, and zero-touch deployment. The Apple Business guide explains that devices are added to the organisation at the time of purchase from Apple, an Apple Authorized Reseller or an authorised cellular carrier, so the phone reaches the employee and enrols automatically the first time it is switched on.

  • Company-owned phone: per Apple’s guide to device supervision, an iPhone on iOS 13 or later becomes supervised automatically when enrolled through Automated Device Enrollment. That gives you wider control over settings and restrictions, and a remote wipe if it is lost.
  • Employee-owned phone: User Enrollment is built for this case: the business manages only its own accounts and data, never the employee's personal account.

What is different about handing an iPhone Duo to an employee?

  • eSIM only: the Saudi store page states the phone has no SIM tray and activates only by eSIM, and in Saudi Arabia it needs a carrier that supports eSIM and activation while physically in the Kingdom. If staff lines are in the company's name, arrange the transfer with your carrier before 23 October.
  • Two screen sizes: 5.4 inches closed and 7.6 inches open, so test the work apps the employee relies on before you approve the device.
  • Cover and warranty: a phone at SAR 9,499 or more deserves a written decision on who bears breakage or loss, and whether the business adds AppleCare+ or relies on an internal policy.

The Origami view

For a business owner, asking how much iPhone Duo costs in Saudi Arabia is only half the decision. The other half is whose name the phone is registered in, whose name is on the invoice, and which system manages it. Buying a SAR 9,499 phone on an employee's card and attaching a photo of the receipt to an expense claim loses the VAT and leaves company data on a device you do not control.

New devices arrive every autumn, and the right approach is the same each time: a written device policy, purchase through a channel that adds the phone to the company's account, a proper tax invoice, and work apps that are ready for any screen. That is what we build with our clients when we connect purchasing, expenses and assets in one system.

Bottom line: what to do before 23 October

  • Decide who gets the phone and for what work, and write it into your device policy.
  • Buy in the company's name and ask for a tax invoice with its VAT number before paying.
  • Enrol the phone in Apple Business or your device management system before handing it over.
  • Arrange the eSIM with your carrier in advance.
  • Test your core work apps on both screens.
